I am way past due for an update!! First of all, everything is good – I’m happy, healthy and enjoying life!

Since my last post, Nick has completed his project at the coast and is now working on a project in Glide, OR. We moved out of our little coast rental and I said goodbye to my Studio II and the beach…for now.

Back on the farm, we worked on some much-needed DIY projects and the overgrown yard. We put the farm up for sale a few weeks ago. Not an easy decision for sure, but good things are ahead!

Our farm is listed on Zillow here:

We also sailed through haying season and have the irrigation up and running.  June was one of the hottest months on record for this area.  A few times we drove to the coast for the day just to escape the heat!

In the studio, I completed an encaustic/mixed media exhibit titled Layers that was on display in Gallery II at the Umpqua Valley Arts Association in May and June.  I also gave an artist’s talk on my work, which was nerve-racking but fun.  Creating this exhibit was a challenging and rewarding process and I feel like I discovered some new insights into who I am as an artist. I hope to share my process with you more in a future post.

Let’s see…wedding planning, irrigation chores and daily life stuff seems to keep me busy.  I have been ‘unplugged’ from the internet quite a bit in the last few months.  I have a string of emails and FB messages to respond to.  But I needed some quiet time to recharge, refocus and get grounded again.

I’ve also been working hard on developing a Watercolor Plein Air online workshop that will be coming up in August. I’m completely excited about this workshop! I’m taking my very best knowledge and tips on plein air painting and sharing them in a fun and easy to follow format.  The registration will be open soon for this online workshop.

I hope you’re having a good summer and are managing to fit in some creative time!
