Little Apple Tree, plein air watercolor on 300 lb. rough watercolor paper, 6″x9″, VinitaPappas

This old apple tree is on my parent’s ranch in southern Oregon. It’s near the forest and we think may be the last remnants of an old homestead long abandoned. The tree has seen better days but it still has some life left and manages to produce to a few apples each year for the deer to snack on. I painted this on location in the fall while the tree still had a few leaves left. It was fun to spend time admiring this little old apple tree. If only this tree could tell me her stories!
